Humming Away...

Hoping your Easter was a very blessed one?

I must say... mine was a happy and blessed Holiday. I had the pleasure of my three year old grandson here visiting with us for the holiday along with my daughter and son-in-law.  That is a blessing in it's self.  Family is always a special blessing, especially my three year old grandson.  He is quite active... but full of laughs, smiles and giggles.
He pulls at my heart strings.

Now that they are gone things are a bit quiet again ~
so it's off to get going on my cards and blog again.

I finally purchased a stamp with a Humming Bird.  Can you believe that?
Being an avid stamper and no humming bird stamp among your stamp collection?

I was in Michael's Art's and Craft store the other day and they were discounting many of their stamps.  The price was right and I love sales, so I picked it up.  So I came home and started creating.  I have seen many cards with paper dollies on them and have some at home so I  decided to use that on my card.  I also was playing with my crimper.  I used a strip of white paper about 1- 1/2 wide and crimped it through my crimper and began folding it into a fan effect.  I then made the paper into a fan and circle effect and used my red line tape to secure it to a round circle on the back and front of hole.  I then took my Spritzer with green Pearl Ex and began spraying the folded fan.  I also used my 18 KT.Gold Leafing Pen from Krylon and edged the outer edge of my back round paper.  The green paper is from K&Company.  And of course the rest is history.  No need to bore you any more with any more details.  A picture is worth a thousand words...

Hope you enjoyed visiting with me today?

And don't be shy...I love comments!

Sweet Rose Blossoms...

Today, I am totally excited to share this card with you.  I have to say... this by far, is MY most favorite card that I created in a long time.

I've had the pleasure of attending two separate stamping shows this year.   I couldn't wait to get started on this project using a new die cut.

It is one of my newer purchases from one of the shows.

I'm not quite sure if it looks so pretty because of the color selection I used on this card or if it's the actual die cut itself or if it's because of the embossed roses and leaves?  I think a pink and green color combination complement each other when you put them together.

I used my sponge dobbers again, sponging the die cut with my Chalks Pigment Ink of pink color on the rose and green on the leaves.  I left my paper on the die cut (after cutting in my Big Kick) and colored them with my chalks. This way the colors always look very precise and stay within the embossed area you want.

One small hint...when using your die cuts, take a small piece of scotch tape and tap it on your clothing a couple times to remove some of the sticky tape from the sticky side. (It will then be easy to remove the tape from your project when done without ruining your paper).   Then take the tape and tape it to your template and paper. Doing this prevents the die cut from moving out of place when running it through your Big Kick/machine or when using your dobbers to color it .

I had some pretty green, pink and gold velum paper for a long time that was purchased ages ago at JoAnn's Fabrics.  I was holding on to that paper for something special and I think ~ this hit it out of the ball park?  The pretty lace is  from JoAnn's as well.  I also used my Martha Stewart Punch again to add a double lace effect with pink paper to the beige lace. I had the  Recollections Mulberry Paper Roses and leaves and decided it was going to add much beauty to this card.  And as always...Pearls do add a beautiful touch.

Hope you like it ladies?  And again...Thanks for joining me today at my blog!  Hope you leave a comment?  I always enjoy hearing from you.

"Iris" Eye's Are Smiling...

I have entered this card into

Well...it's Monday already. My...don't the weeks just fly by?  Monday's... I always try to have another card for you stampers to view. Today I wanted to give you two posts to view rather than one. Be sure to look at "Pretty In Pink" (below this post).  I hope these two cards today will give you more inspiration of your own.   I know I find great inspiration when browsing other stampers blog sites and viewing their lovely cards and pictures they post.

Notice that I water colored  the Iris in a pretty deep blue and spritzed it when done coloring my flower with my (Pearl Ex Powder mixture) and sprayed it lightly with a green color of Pearl Ex with my Mini Mister from Ranger.  I also used my sponge dobber with light blue ink to give color around the outer edge of the flower before spraying.  (I liked the effect it gives).  I also added the cute little butterflies to give it a feminine feeling as well as lace on this card along with my Fleur De Lis die cut for each corner. I used pretty blue, pink and green flowered background paper.  And I couldn't forget the pearls to add.  Something about pearls...they help make the card.

I'm smiling....just like the title for this card.

Pretty In Pink...

I have entered this card in  Our Daily Bread Design

And away we go... I want to share with you today this pretty little card all in pink.  I love using pink when doing my cards.  It seems like I'm totally driven to work with pinks allot.  Don't know why?

I love my stamp called "En Francais" from Stampin'Up. Seems like I get tons of use out of that stamp.  I heat embossed the stamp in pink embossing powder called ~"Petal Pink"~ from Sprinkle N Sparkle and used it for the background.  Then I used my Spellbinders die cut (called) Labels Nine for the top portion  of the outer layer. The  inside layer was stamped with Stampin'Up's Jumbo Wheel called ~"Very Vintage"~ along with Stampin'Up's classic stamp pad ink called... (Of course, what else???? LOL!)  ~"Pretty In Pink"~. Then I used my Spellbinder die cut called "Fleur De Lis" and used the smaller die cut that comes with it and cut one in half to add to the left and right bottom corners and the another one on the top.  Added pearls and small bow and its ready to go.....

Now... I really liked this card so I got busy and made another one just like it and decided I would give it to my close friend Pat for her birthday this month.

The Hershey Candy Bar before it was wrapped.

Here's how they all looked together to give Pat.

I wanted her to have something to open with her card so  I covered a huge ~ Hershey Candy Bar ~ and made it to match, as close as possible.  I then also wanted her envelope to match her card so I lined the envelope to match.  I then took one of my clear Cello envelopes and wrapped the candy bar in it with a small satin bow and added a home made tag that said  ~ Happy Birthday ~ on it.  Here's how it all looked when it was all finished.
It's always fun planing and making something special for a special friend.

A Little Watercoloring...

Glad to have you back friends...
Coming up with different ideas and not making each card look the same is sometimes a little tricky? Now...this card in my opinion looks a bit flat...I mean there is no silk flowers added to this one. I believe raised or dimensional flowers really add a nice touch.  However, it's not realistic in mailing them that way.  So I did that on purpose for this card.  Reason being...is it can be mailed through the postal service easily.

With this card I used the Spellbinders Nestabilities Fleur De Lis die cut  for each corner.  I then used my stamp from "Me and Carry Lou Stamps" - Pansy Corner H-123.  I took the stamp and hand colored each flower and leaf individually with my Tom Bo Water Color Pens before stamping onto water color paper.  I then water colored the flowers with my pens to lightly add a bit of color to each flower and cut them out and attached them to each side.  I used my small fern leaf punch from "Punch Bunch" to add more leaves.  The bible verse is computer generated.  I added the silver rhinestone flourishes to ad BLING, BLING to both corners. Then lastly, I put lavender photo corner tags in two corners of the card.  This card has a little bit of everything.

Rose Fever...

Hi Stamping Friends.....Today I have chosen to share with you this pretty little card.  I hope you like it?  Roses were my inspiration with this card.

I was able to download the center picture from HUB PAGES once again, for my card.  I had some soft flowered scrapbook paper for the center and used my Spellbinders Shapeabilities Pendant (Fleur De Lis)  die cut for the boarder around it.  Then I used my Stampin-Up punch around the corner punch to add more layers.  I used  flowers from the company "Recollections-Boutique-Fleur-Fabric-Flowers" and mini roses that was purchased from Michael's Art and Craft store.
Blessings to all....Leanne
