One Night, One Birth, One Life....2017

Christmas is almost everyone's favorite time of the year?  Mine included. I love all the twinkle and glitz as well as the whole reason for the season.  "Jesus".
With this years card  I set out to try and capture the outdoors feel to the season.  As I originally said I make a about 40 cards and start preparing in the early summer months.  Working on each one a little at a time as to not be overwhelmed at the last minute.  Each year I tell myself this is the last.  Or try cutting down on the number sent.  However, I always seem to purge forward the next year.  Not sure about next year, at the momet?
The inside of the card reads as it shows.
This year I had a hard time trying to make the photographs clear for you.  There is not a great "free" internet program out there to really enhance and capture the true look in real time.   Very disappointing!  Sorry..... !  In close up, they twinkle beautifully.  Glitter glue is added to the light green trees and I used glitter paper for the deer and pine cone leaf.

May your Christmas season be filled with the love of family, friends and blessings in 2018.

Birthday Time Again...

Thought this clock die cut would make a cute birthday card for my friend Sandy's Birthday this year.  The clock seems to co-inside with a birthday being the same TIME each year.
I love this paper as it's  made with my favorite flowers that happen to be blue Hydrangea's surrounding the card.  I also was able to apply Hydrangea denominational's to the corners from K & Company.  No stamping this time on the card.  Just applying beautiful demention to the card with two different dye cuts.  I love blue and think it really turned out pretty?  I know Sandy loved it and does save each card I make and send her.

Vellum and Softness...

Time for another pretty card to show to you again.  I stamped the pretty flowers and attached vellum on top of it after embossing the outer edge.
My intention here is to see it more blown up because the vellum really hides a lot of the color..
I sent it off to a friend for her birthday while being in a hurry and not taking real good pictures to post here.  I'm sorry its kind of hard to see.  Anyways....hope you have a wonderful week?  Thanks for dropping by!

Christmas Project Peek....

Christmas is just around the corner.  Before we know it will be December and those who still send Christmas Cards out will be scurrying to get them in the mail to those near and dear.

As for me... you know that I make my own cards each year and send out approximately 40 cards to friends and family out of town.

So....here is a few surprise shots of my upcoming card to share with you this year.  I began a little over a month ago and try to do them in small doses so I don't become overwhelmed.

Cutting and embossing begins.

Each card drying after stamping on my table and small end table in living room.

Stay tuned for more with a view of the finished product.  A little closer to Christmas time of course I will post it and also another post of my projects that I give to my special church friends for a small homemade gift from me each year.

Watercolor Blowing....

I've seen when others take watercolor paint and add water to it and blow on it to form the paint to a free form.  I like modern art and had some shinny paper and decided to give it a try.
The background tuned out very soft and pretty with purple, pink and a tad of yellow splatters to my card.  I like the way it turned out and wish my picture showed it better for you.
Hugs...to all! Leanne

My Own Watercolor Tulips...

By no means of the imagination do I really have any real artistic ability or a gift for painting. However, I got inspired one evening and decide to try and use my watercolor paint and brush to try and form pedals and tulips.  No stamps this time.
One thing I do like about water-coloring as it can be forgiving when forming a flower.  It just leaves the eye to have its own imagination of a flower with out being to specific.
I liked the way it turned out and sent it to a friend after her surgery.  Perhaps,  I'll try to do this again sometime soon?  I found it fun and rewarding not using stamps this time.

Happy Retirement ....

Recently a neighbor of mine was retiring from her job so I put together this quick card with one of my favorite stamps and made her some candies to match with computer printer labels to match the color.    I used my Stampin Up wheel and while running it across each label  and applied little flowers from a punch I had and put green glitter in the center.
I have small 3 x 3 cello boxes I purchased a long time ago and put a bit of white straw on the bottom and put a small "For You" label on it and took it to her.  Her reaction was delightful!

Happy 1st Anniversary Ryan and Beth...

Today I'm eager to share with you this Anniversary card I made for my Son and sweet Daughter-In-Law.  It's been a year already since their wedding vows took place.  I'm sure they would agree how fast the year has gone since making wedding plans for that special day.

In the mean time I set out to make a 1st year Anniversary card to follow suit with their wedding card that I made for them.  Below is the card I made for them.  I wanted them each to look similar and co-inside with one another.

Here is a verse that I was able to implement and change the verses wording to fit them well.

I always dislike photographing white cards because the camera does not do the white on white justice.

Happy Birthday Wishes Jill....

I'm sure many of you had made stamping friends through the internet and other blogs.  Well...I've made a great friend Jill from Ribbon Challenged who's birthday was the the 30th and I got out this card to send her so that she knew I was thinking of her on her Birthday.  This stamp is from Penny Black is certainly one of my favorites along with the other black stamp I purchased at a stamp show several years ago and is also a favorite of mine. This particular stamp is from Stampendous and name is Vintage Contract.

Hope you had a marvelous birthday Jill?

Blue Iris Eyes...

It's birthday time again for my sweet niece Kelli.  So I'm hoping she'll enjoy this when she receives it.  She has the most pretty blue eyes and is a true blond.  So this title fits her quite well.  This is another one of Penny Blacks stamps that I again am very fond of.   I've been on a quest recently to try and make cards that are not 3 dementional without die cuts so that I do not have to pay extra postage.  We all know how costly it can get if your mailing many cards and the Post Office charges extra for the demention in the envelope.

You will see more cards like this returning for your viewing of a couple more Penny Black Stamps that I purchased and stamped for cards to be on hand for a quick card.
Hope you all have a great day!

Ocean Serenity....

I made this card some time ago.  I had the real (tiny) star fish and and sea shells and tried making waves with parchment paper to feel as if the waves were rolling in. I used glitter paper for the background hoping it may resemble the sun glittering off the water.  Unfortunately, my imagination is bigger than my crafting skills here.
I also had a few stamps with sea shells and added to it.  This was not particularly one of my more favorite cards I've made trying to resemble the ocean.  So I've continue to make a few more ocean themed cards and will eventually get them photographed and uploaded for you to see.
All for now....

Ready and Waiting....

This happens to be one of my more favorite cards I've made and still can't seem to part with it and give it to someone special.  Probably because it was hard making the white outer oval cut out.  I used my Big Shot to cut the die cut.  If you notice it did not cut thru both papers and with that said I think that makes this an unusual card?
I'm happy to share it will you all rather than giving it away. I really don't know why I'm so attached to it and not want to present it to someone for a special occasion.  Maybe in time?
